Healthy LifeStyles Class

The mission of our Healthy LifeStyles Class is to present relevant topics that plague young adults of every background. These classes are designed to challenge the reasoning behing the choices we make by presenting information with truth and integrity. Classes are held on Tuesday nights at 7:00pm.

Topics include areas like depression, alcoholism and casual sex. You may view the classes and topics that are being offered at this time by visiting our client-based site.

Reach for Your Dreams

“Reach for Your Dreams” is a free program that was designed to help you with your day-to-day practical needs including finding housing, food, clothing, or medical services.  Our social service coordinator will meet with you during scheduled meetings where you will work with her in setting and completing personal goals.  Peer counsel is given along with community referrals.  If you are in need of continued one-on-one peer counsel, a volunteer can be assigned to help you through our exciting Mom-to-Mom program which is a more personal, long-term version of “Reach for Your Dreams”.

Moms in Training

Moms in Training (MIT) equips pregnant teens and women with knowledge and skills to complete a healthy pregnancy, have a positive labor experience, and provide their new family member with excellent care.  Sessions are once a week for 8 weeks and include Lamaze education and a hospital tour.

Parenting Class

Parenting Class helps to provide parents with the lifeskills needed to raise their children beginning at infancy through the teen years. Parenting Class can help strengthen your marriage and allows you to join with other parents as we provide you with knowledge for raising your children. Classes are held on Thursday's at 1:00pm at Alternatives. Each attendance earns a clothing voucher. Clients who attend 10 sessions are also given a certificate of completion and a gift certificate to Meijer.
