Our VisionOn His Course for 2010by Dave Bos, Executive DirectorAt Alternatives, our vision includes:Forming a marketing committee to provide a consistent message to our supporters and the general public. One thing that APCC has lacked in the past is a clear effective marketing outreach. A marketing plan can efficiently spread our message to both current and future supporters. An effective message will cause people to remember your message any time it is heard. An effective plan also will prompt young women and men to think of APCC when they need our services. Updating our web page. This is a must for both the donor’s sake and the client’s sake. Many changes have been made over the last few months and many more are coming! Aggressively pursuing grants from various private funds. We have hired a new, part-time grant research and development person with a background in grants. Contact has already been made with several foundations. Grants can be a tremendous ongoing source of funding once we are approved. Finalizing the details and open our STD clinic.Thankfully, we have the resources to begin our STD clinic. We also have a physician who has agreed to oversee the clinic. Please pray that we can finalize all the details and open our doors soon. Just think how many women and men we can reach through this valuable outreach! Developing a middle and high school abstinence education outreach program. This is a project near to my heart. I strongly believe that our kids, not to mention ourselves get blasted with the wrong message regarding abstinence. It seems as if every commercial at home, every billboard outside, and every sex education class in school is filled with the lies of safe sex and multiple family situations that are not designed by our Creator. It is our job to get the good and positive message out about abstinence and purity. Beginning a church outreach where each week a different church is invited to come and pray with us.We, as brothers and sisters in Christ, need to lift each other up in prayer. This does not happen unless we make it a point to meet with one another and share our praises and our needs. We have begun the process of inviting churches to a prayer time each Wednesday morning. If your church is in this area and is interested, please call our center and let us know. Finding new ways to reach the community and get our message out.APCC is now a member of the Kalamazoo Chamber of Commerce and I am on the Public Policy Committee. This is a great way to meet the community and business leaders in the greater Kalamazoo area. We will continue to find other ways to reach out to potential supporters that may not know we exist. |
